Come What May

“When the going gets tough, the tough gets going” –a group of simple words but has a deeper meaning as a whole. Some might say this statement is just typical sentence composed of not so hard words. Yes, we can know the definition of these words without consulting the dictionary. But the question is do we really know true meaning of this idiomatic statement? What does this statement want us to know?
It just tells us that when things go hard, strong people don’t give up. If a person is strong enough he won’t let anything to hinder him from doing things he want, from reaching his goals. He won’t lose hope that he can do it instead he will set his mind that if he really wants it then he will do it anything regardless of how hard it is. He will not think that the thing he wants or he dreams is difficult to get that he will stop reaching it. What he will he think is that nothing is impossible if he will work hard for it.
It also applies to our problems, we cannot avoid from having them. We all have problems in life, we just need to have the strength to overcome this. We cannot solve our problem if we will think that we cannot do anything about it, so better not to try anything and just let it. Let us think positively, let us be positive that problems are going to be gone if we will face it.
It implies us that we just need to have self confidence.  The more it takes hard, the more we should be strong. If we want something then go for it. We have to be strong in this life. If we won’t be strong then we will be left alone unsuccessful. Take those successful people in the society. They won’t come that far if they give up easily. They won’t have what they have if they let those problems or challenges to block their way to their dreams. God gave us the strength; we just have to use it.

Math Festival 2011

From a year with fewer events, here we had our Math Festival for this year. Expectedly, we had different activities related to Math of course. In the morning, we had the Math Trail, Math Quiz Bee and the presentation of contestants for The King and Queen in every section for the four year levels. The crowd was cheering out loud for their representatives as if the contest has begun already. After this, the oral phase for Math Quiz Bee in which only the top ten teams from the written phase were chosen to compete. While Math Quiz Bee was still on going in the gym, the participants for the Math Trail are very much eager to finish every station and become the first team to finish the whole trail.
The students kept on cheering as the contestants for the G. at Bb. Sipnayan started own the stage as they presented their selves and their year level. Every student was shouting for the name of their candidates. Some has their banners for the candidates to show their full support to them. At the middle of the Contest, the Math Jingle participants of each level performed their prepared Math Jingles to show up their talent while applying what they had learned in their Math Subjects. Every team was so energetic while performing that everyone enjoyed their presentation. Going back to the G. at Bb. Sipnayan, the participants showed up their own talents proudly. After the talent portion, they proved that it is not only the talent they’ve got but also the wit. They answered the question given to them intelligently. At the end of the contest, the third years are so proud that Michael got the title for the G. Sipnayan and as well as the fourth years for their batch mate who became the Bb. Sipnayan. Though she did not get the title we are still proud for Jam who got the 1st runner-up for doing her best and giving her full participation for this event.
With the hardwork of the people in Calgeotrists’ Society, Math Festival was done successfully for this day. It gave us students the enjoyment for the whole day. The time we got to mingle with other students while participating in different activities.  Once again, the society had proven that they really deserved the approval of our principal to have this fest.

Dear  Shepherd,

Love is not measurable by the material things in this world. It is not about the things that you can give to a woman, it is about the feeling you have. It is not because of the flowers that you gave why you will win one’s heart. It is not also because you have most of the things why a person will fall in love with you. Love is priceless that no other things can buy it, if you want to have it then show it, let that someone feel the love and prove it.
As a woman, I would only accept your offer if and only if you can show and prove to me that your love is true and you are sincere to win my heart. I don’t need those material things. I won’t ask for an elegant gown, a simple one will be fine if as I wear that it will soon lead me to the altar with your promises that you’re gonna love me eternally. I would not live in a paradise if soon everything there will be gone as well as the love you have for me. I rather live in a simple place where I will feel the everlasting love. I will choose to lie in a bed made of wood rather than in a bed full of roses where I will see myself alone because we had separated. I just need a person who can be with me until his last breathe.
All I have to see is that you love me because you love me and it won’t change as we grow older. Show me that even I am not as young as this time you will stay beside me. That after several years or even decades I will hear you saying “I love you more than I love you when we started to be together and if there will be after this life, I will still choose to be with you.”
I don’t ask you to promise me, you just need to prove your love. And by the time I see your sincerity and I feel that you really love me I would not have any second thought to accept your offer and live with you.

Your dearest,
Nymph

Let’s take a break

From a year without several field trip, festivals and other activities in school here we are now, we have gone to Manila for a field trip. We are all hoping for many activities this year and we are fortunate that our hope was granted. We have field trip! Yes! One day away from school, no books to read, no lessons to take for the day. Let’s just enjoy guys.
I remember Grace, one week before this trip she was already saying that she is excited for this activity but we were just ignoring her. She was always saying “Field Trip, I’m so excited already” and we were just saying “Okay Grace” (LOL Grace J) Then, a day before this it was really obvious that she is so much excited. She was saying “ Oh my God, oh my God, Field trip Tomorrow! Uh I’m excited! But as expected we just replied her “Okay” J haha.  She even sent a Group message on the night before this day.
And the day came; all are waiting in Cavsci early in the morning about 5:30. It seems that all are excited including me and my other classmates. Students are talking about their destinations and their plans with their groups. Doing the same thing, our group was talking about our plans also. Our section is somehow noisy because we are discussing some stuff like who’s gonna be their seatmate in the bus, who brought mp3, who brought may foods and many more. Our conversation did not stop though we were called to line up since the buses are already outside the school.
In the bus we met Kuya Noel, our travel guide. He is funny and cool. No boredom at all in the entire trip going to Manila. He was saying funny things with trivia. He was also able to make some of our classmates sing given that they are not singing in front of other people in our school even in our room. With this, we knew the hidden talents of our classmates. Until we reached are destinations.
First stop, Science Discovery center (SDC) in Moa. We found the technologies there awesome. As we went there we appreciated how science and technology had gone through that made complicated things easier. From small things we now have those technologies that who would have thought before that it would be discovered someday, these days. Through with our first stop. Next, Myth of the Human Body. Whoow. It is just amazing that they were able to preserve those true bodies. At first we thought we cannot take the ambiance inside because as we entered, it was somewhat dark which I am afraid of and even the smell. But we did it! We saw the real body parts, inside and outside our body. We learned many things from this. Last stop before MOA for the second time, Kulturang Pinoy. Uh. . I love it. I love the way the people here treasured our culture. It made me feel how rich we are in terms of culture. The hospitality they gave once we went there it’s really a Filipino act everytime there are visitors. The folk dances which I thought were forgotten already by some Filipinos because of the other kind of dance and songs. The houses and things inside are just so Pinoy style. Lastly, the attitude of Filipinos that we don’t easily dumped our parents when they are too old for us. It touched my heart badly. Uh! I love this Kulturang Pinoy. And I’m Proud I am Pinoy!
Down to MOA. Okay FUN! What would we expect other than having fun in the mall? As what was planned by some they went skating, others played games, and the rest just roamed around and buy something. Going from here to there, sit here and sit there then eat and go o somewhere again-those are what we did in MOA. Until we see other classmates and go with them and then others will go in other place leaving us but after a while we will be together again. That was our life that time but it was fun. We kept on laughing because of the things that we were doing which is “LOL much” Though we were just walking the happiness was there because of us. I felt that 3N was united at that time, if we found somebody then go with them or they go with us. It was so enjoyable having a good time with them.
After all the things I’ve said here. I just want to say that I LOVE THIS FIELD TRIP. We did not only get information but it’s more than that. I, myself believe on our teachers that we cannot only get the learnings inside our classroom, sometimes we have to go out and explore more things. Learn from other things aside from the information given by the book. GO AND EXPLORE!

My Teacher My Hero

If someone would ask us what a teacher is, some would probably say “They are the ones who teach us our lessons in school.” But they deserve an answer more than that, an answer better than that. They are not just mere teachers who hold a chalk and write on the blackboard or those who hold a book and talk in front of the class, they do not act just like that. They do act as our second parents in school and even outside. I myself had proved that that they really act as that. If we have problems they are just there and ready to rescue for us. They know if something is wrong with us, their students. Even we don’t tell it, they feel it. They are sensitive enough when it comes to their students.
I can still remember the times our teacher talked to the whole class because of something we did which is not good. She did not scold us; her voice is still low even we know she is not in favor for what we did. Instead, she gave us some thoughts related to that. She shared some stories which made us understand what she is trying to tell us. This thing gave us a deeper lesson, with her thoughts she was able to change something within us. She taught us what is right and wrong. And until now that I don’t see her in school I still have those things she left not only in my mind but also in my heart. Thank you Ma’am.
But it is not only her who did something like that to us. Other teachers do that also which make a difference in us also. They guide us everyday, support us when we need them the most and listen to us when we need someone to talk to. So to all teachers this song is for you.

This song is for those
who inspire us today
who always lend a helping hand
to help show us the way
This song is for those
who see their students through
the tough part in their lives
for that we say thank you
You have made a difference
you have shaped our minds
you have changed the world
one child at a time
You have always been there
in everything you do
I hope that you're as proud me
as I am proud of you
This song is for those
who heard the silent cries
who stepped in to wipe the tears
from the children's eyes
For those who gave us
a safe place to grow
a place to call our home
forever we will know......that
This song is for those
who taught us right from wrong
who taught us much more than their craft
to help our minds grow strong
This song is for those
who guide us through and through
so that we can make a life
for that we say thank you
As I look back on my life
into the path within my reach
I hope I can change a life
Of those that I teach
I can make a difference
all I do is try
try to see a different world
through the children's eyes
I will always be there
in everything I do
I hope that you're are proud of me
as I am proud of you.

I will never forget the things you did for me and I will apply those things in my life because Ma’am YOU HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE….

A step for the Future

We all have our ability in ourselves that can be expressed in a form of test. This ability was showed last September 30 when we had our National Career Assessment Exam or simply the NCAE. This exam aims to help us in choosing the fields we will go to after high school, the course we will take up in college. With this, we could take a short time in thinking what course we are going to choose after graduating in high school.
During the exam, there are some tests and questions that somewhat I don’t know. I found some questions difficult to answer because I am honestly not good in that area. I admit I am not good in everything. I cannot do everything perfectly. But there are questions that are easy for me maybe because that field is what I really want from the start and I am enjoying it. I cannot tell that I have equal abilities in all areas; there is just a certain area I know and where I can really be.
I did not set my mind that I should really take every question so much seriously and try to do everything just to answer those questions correctly. I did not put pressure on myself in answering the exam.  I just answered the things coming out in my mind and if I cannot answer a question it’s just okay for me. Because I really took it as an aptitude test not like our PT that I should try hard to answer the questions given in every subject. I was just thinking that this exam will reflect my abilities.  I want to know where I am good at in a way that I am enjoying what I am doing, not because I am trying hard just to pass the exam.
I myself can tell that this test is a big help already for a student like me. This can prepare us in thinking where we will be after two years, what we will be after four years in high school. We will not be that confused in the field we will go to. I think this exam can also prevent us from shifting from one course to another when we are already in college because even in this stage we can now decide what we will choose. This time, I can know more if I will pursue to my first choice of course according to my ability.
